Weak spot at threaded primer holder?

Purchased several of these to address Black bears at my cabin. After two tests the first one was damaged and unusable. Replaced it with a new one and tested once. Again second one damaged after one test and unusable. Both broke at the threads where the bottom piece that holds the primer screws on. Not sure if that's a defect or a weak spot. Had no choice but to set up my third one due to bear issues. Worried that this will be a one time use so just set it up without doing a test. Works great if it wouldn't break apart after one or two tests.
