Fith Ops Perimeter Camp Safe (209 Primer Only) Trip Alarm Kit - 209 Carrier & Dyneema Trip Line

This is my 3rd purchase. The equipment is functional, well built ,and American-made.

I bought the Fifth Ops 209 perimeter alarms and accessory kit. The perimeter alarm is very well made and it was very easy to set up. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Ultralight 2.4 ounces (69.2 g) when all the components are taken out of the package, you’ve got the essentials to set up a trip wire alarm, with included bonus that package includes 10ea. standard #209 Shotgun primers. Whether it’s Black bears or Black Hooded anarchists looking to disturb the peace, there’s simply no more effective, reliable, and inexpensive means to help watch your back. I own several generations of FITHOPS devices, and am happy to keep ordering as they are continuously improved. The older versions remain rock solid, and allow me to further extend outer rings of defense (and time to respond to threats) to my master site protection plan. I noted that the back of package instructions for the 209 Primer CampSafe Kit still shows a hitch clip pin (R pin) style trigger pin, while current kit contents provide two straight shaft safety pins with loops at the end. Because you can adjust how far the straight shaft extends through the firing pin body, you can somewhat adjust the sensitivity of the device (i.e. even the slightest movement of the trip wire could release the firing pin). If you don’t like this option, you can always buy a commonly available hitch pin at the hardware store and have a spare of the more uniquely formed loop end/straight shaft firing pin in your kit. Biggest bang for the buck with this style kit is the extremely compact and ready availability of standard #209 shotshell primers to sound triggered alerts. Any brand of 209 shotshell primers will work, and they’re available (time of writing early 2025) in prices ranging from around $70 USD to $90 USD per thousand (note that you may have to pay a hazardous shipping fee). Sporting goods stores will often sell boxes of 100 primers without any shipping fees added on, and if you live near an outdoor range with skeet/trap shooting, many shotgun sports enthusiasts reload shotshells and can generally be persuaded to sell you primers from their supply. I write product reviews for Amazon, and had the opportunity to check out a Chinese knock off of the FITHOPS 209 design, and it was manufactured in such a way that it was physically incapable of firing – a totally useless POS! While no single FITHOPS device style is capable of performing every single function served by their entire product line, they ALL are capable of flawlessly performing the vital function of alerting you to unwanted perimeter intrusions! This 209 kit packs light so you can rest at night – here ends my story and I’m sticking to it.
